See the field more clearly
Hi everyone,
For the Mexico City weekend, we've added a new way to see how closely the field is matched, more options for telling timing colors apart, and performance improvements that should make Degner easier to use on your phone.
📊 See where the field bunches up
The new Field Spread chart puts the whole field on one visual timeline. In qualifying, it compares best laps against the elimination cutoff or pole. The Cut button lets you zoom into the time range near the cutoff. In a race, it shows gaps to the leader, helping you spot tightly packed groups and the space between them without reading every interval on the timing board.
🎨 Make timing colors easier to tell apart
If you find some of the timing or tyre colors hard to distinguish, try the new color assistance options in Settings. They offer alternative status and tyre colors, alongside compact cues for personal-best and overall-fastest times.
If you have color or visual impairments, please let us know how these improvements work for you. We'd like to make Degner more accessible for everyone.
âš¡ Keep timing responsive on your phone
We've greatly reduced the memory used by live timing and improved responsiveness while rewinding. We've also slightly reduced CPU usage during live sessions and replays. The changes benefit all platforms, but should be especially helpful on low- and mid-range phones.
🔧 A few smaller improvements
- Qualifying session handling is more reliable, including better detection of segment boundaries (Q1, Q2, etc.) and red-flag periods.
- Tyre ages now update correctly when a driver fits another set of the same compound with a different number of laps on it.
- Suzuka and Singapore track maps now include mini-sector boundaries for head-to-head comparisons.
- Championship charts have clearer colors and markers, and we've expanded Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Italian and Hungarian translations.
Open Degner to try the changes. If you have feedback on Field Spread or the color assistance options, we'd love to hear it through the feedback link in Help.
Thanks for using Degner.
