Super Formula joins Degner, plus a closer look at F1
Hi everyone,
This weekend brings Singapore in F1 and Fuji in Super Formula, and the biggest Degner update is a new series to follow. We've spent the last few weeks bringing Super Formula into the app, alongside two new ways to get more out of F1. Cars are lining up on track in Singapore, why don't you load up Degner on your second screen to follow along?
Below are three new things to try next time you open Degner.
Super Formula comes to Degner
You can now follow Japan's premier single-seater series with live timing, telemetry, pit stops, charts and qualifying analysis, including support for qualifying groups. If you've been curious about Super Formula, this is a good time to give it a look.
The basics are in place, with more to come. Track maps and GPS positions, race control messages, team radio and an annotated timeline aren't available for Super Formula yet but will be for the Suzuka race in a month's time.
Timing, telemetry, pit stops and qualifying analysis are open without an account. Live rewind is available for Supporters.
See where each driver is faster
Focus two F1 drivers and turn on H2H (head-to-head) on the track map to see where each is quicker around the lap. It's a little like the track-dominance graphics on the broadcast, with the choice of drivers in your hands. The chart updates live, based on the last 4 laps' data.
Read the team radio
F1 team-radio clips now have automatic transcripts underneath them, live and in replays from this weekend onward. Read the message as well as listen. Noisy radio can still trip up the transcription, so the original audio is there to check. We will continue improving on the quality of transcriptions.
Transcripts require Supporter access. Team-radio audio remains available without an account. Older recordings won't have transcripts.
A few smaller improvements
- F1 replays and live rewind now open closer to the session start, keeping the formation lap and pit-lane queue. This removes some noise or lull from the beginning, making navigation easier.
- The pre-race board distinguishes reconnaissance laps, waiting on the grid and the formation lap.
- A small bug is fixed: telemetry charts keep working when new data arrives while you're inspecting a tooltip.
These updates now have a home at degner.app/news, with tutorials and highlights planned too.
Thanks for using Degner.
